Cynthia of SimplyCyn

A few years ago while perusing the Inter-webs, we stumbled upon Cynthia’s blog and were immediately smitten by her impeccable taste, her love for all things Etsy and the gorgeous imagery she uses on the blog. Fast forward to 2015 and Cynthia is the first blogger featured on Easy Conversation.
Our conversation with this lovely lady went a little something like this…

Tell us a little about yourself…
I’m originally from Cameroon, have called NYC my home for the past 18 years and I’m an attorney who dabbles in blogging about things I find interesting (fashion, travel, food, design and music).

Recently Updated411

Growing up what did you want to be?

I wanted to be Whitney Houston period. She was my everything!

How would you define your personal style? What’s your personal motto?
[My style is] Laid-back chic, which in my head is a little different from effortless chic.
My philosophy about fashion: to not care what anyone thinks. I wear what I want and dress how I feel.

Who and what inspires you?

I’m most inspired by everyday people I see everyday on the street. Because everyday life can be quite hectic, I find when I travel I get extra inspired, because I get to take it all in and slow down. I love people watching and imagining what is going on in the minds and lives of strangers.

What made you decide to start your blog Addicted2Etsy?
It started as a fun hobby; an outlet to celebrate all the cool independent artists I discovered when I started using Etsy when planning my wedding. It has grown to celebrate all the different things and people I admire. It’s my personal escape and catalog of things I want to remember and to share.I am moving away from the name Addicted2Etsy, the blog is now called SimplyCyn.

What are some of your proudest moments?
My proudest moments are when I can come through for others. When I’m able to do something special for my family and people I love. The best feeling ever.

What is next your travel destination?
I’ll be spending 12 days in Italy in May and I’m most excited about my one night stay at Matera (it looks like the most unreal place on earth).

And finally, tell us, what was the last book you read?

Big Little Lies funny, entertaining with a dash of mystery – definitely made my train commute less frustrating.
